Malcolm's Eulogy

Created by MoniQueues 15 years ago
Malcolm nearly never made it into this world due to complications, but he was a fighter and remained so until his life was so sadly cut short. Malcolm was a warmhearted person, both boy and man.He endeared himself to all that came to know him. He touched everybody's hearts with his love and acceptance. He never had a bad word to say about anything or anybody- even though there were such times as to take umbrage, still; never a sour word passed his lips. Malcolm bore his first illness [Malcolm had his first brain tumour aged 16] with great courage and, of course, his ever present smile and laughter, and so he did with the second tumour that so tragically took him away from all those who loved him. Malcolm could walk into a room and it would light up with his presence. Our hearts would instantly be lifted by his laughter and teasing and his own inimitable manner of talking i.e. his unique version of the cockney rhyming slang. The National Hospital and The Epilepsy Centre had to be versed to understand some of his sayings, which was quite comical it has to be said! Malcolm loved life, even though life wasn't always so kind to him. But he took the good and bad without complaint. In fact, it was very rare for him to grumble or complain at all. (He would even apologise for being ill and asking for help). As we know, Malcolm's passion in life was for Chelsea Football Club. He was once a steward at Stamford Bridge and at one time travelled to nearly every away game, as well as all the home matches. He would have been elated to know that Chelsea beat Derby 4-0 recently, but then he could have had the best seat in the house-so to speak- a bird's-eye view! I think he has a big smile on his 'boat' right now (for those of you not wise to the lingo: boat means face, as in 'boat race!) Malcolm liked to live a simple life. He loved Chelsea, the odd flutter and he loved to sing. As a boy he would sing the songs from the records or on the radio by heart. Later he loved to get up on stage and sing karaoke; usually the ballads, the love songs- as he was such a big softie. And, of course, there was his big love for his family and friends. He would never say goodbye without saying 'I love you'- he definitely wore a big heart on his sleeve. Malcolm was the original gentle giant :) He will be sorely missed by his Father,Mother,Step-mum, his Sister, his Brother's- Darren, Kevin and Vincent. Also John Jnr and Caroline. He was a very special Son, Brother, Nephew, Cousin and Friend. And a loving Uncle. He really did bring sunshine into all our lives; though the skies may seem dark now Malcolm is no longer with us - We all hold a piece of his sunshine in our hearts and he'll be with us always. His memory will shine on. Written by his Sister, Monique xxx
