Goodbye to Our Sunshine

This is a picture of Malcolm. He passed away on 2nd April 2001 at the N.S.E Medical Unit- surrounded by all his family. The Eulogy below was read out at his service on 12th April 2001. (Even the Vicar had tears in is eyes as he had met Malc on previous occasions visiting the hospital.) On his casket he had a football shaped wreath on a green cushion with the words 'Malc of CFC' in silver letters. (Malcolm signed everything-letters and cards- with those words). We had a large picture of Malc in frame in front of the casket.(The one you see above) I wore a Chelsea scarf in his honour. As people arrived we had the song 'My Love' by Westlife played. We sang the hymn 'All things bright and beautiful' and I think, 'Abide with me'. As the curtain closed after the service and people began to leave we were treated to a rendition of the tape with the Chelsea player's singing- "Chelsea we love you, Chelsea, Chelsea through and through, Chelsea- our love is true,no one can stop us now!" Malc would have smiled at that! A Chelsea song booming around the walls of a church! Afterwards we went to the local pub and had a champagne lunch (Thanks Dad) and there we celebrated Malc's life and we all got rather 'merry'. Malcolm wouldn't have wanted tears. He would have wanted laughter. We did so in his honour.
